This is my story.
I was born in South Korea, and immigrated to the States when I was in middle school. Ever since, I have been in my journey of living as an immigrant Korean American here in the State of Texas!
With my Korean heritage and American identity, I live in an interesting world of both and neither. I speak both languages fairly fluently, but it seems I know neither of them perfectly. I do grasp both spaces pretty adequately, yet many times I feel as if I am an outsider to both.
I am captivated.
What captivates me about the Bible is that we see so many people of God who felt like there were living in the world of both and neither. So many immigrants, like Ruth, Daniel, Esther, and the Jewish diaspora, were part of God’s working in the Bible. My passion is to join God’s work whether I’m both or neither.
Grow deeper in grace!
My husband, David, is also a Korean American, also a seminary graduate and a Software Engineer. As we like to say, we finish each other’s theological sandwich!
We have two dogs, Methuselah (Thusie for short, on the left) and Nebuchadnezzar (Nezzie for short, on the right).
As I document my journey in this space and share it with you, I pray that my stories affirm and uplift you - and even challenge you to grow deeper in grace along with me!
